Paulo Exequiel Dybala (born 15 November 1993) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for Serie A club Roma and the Argentina national team. He is nicknamed "La Joya" ("The Jewel").
Dybala began his club career in 2011 with Instituto de Córdoba before signing for Palermo in 2012, where he won a Serie B title. In 2015, Dybala signed for Juventus and won five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italia titles. He was also named Serie A Most Valuable Player in the 2019–20 season and was named in the Serie A Team of the Year four times; Dybala ranks as the club's ninth-highest all-time goalscorer. In 2022, Dybala joined fellow Serie A club Roma.
Dybala made his senior debut for Argentina in 2015 at the age of 21. He has made 40 appearances and represented Argentina at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the 2019 Copa América, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, winning the latter title.

"Front Page," a documentary exhibition in SoHo, measures the visibility of gay issues in the news by examining newspaper coverage of the gay-rights march in Washington in April. The show puts on display the front pages of more than 150 newspapers from Monday, April 26, the day after the march, which was attended by hundreds of thousands of people. Of the newspapers displayed, 87 percent had front-page articles on the march and 6 percent had front-page headlines or photographs referring to articles on inside pages.

The National Conference of Catholic Bishops gave a rousing show of support for Joseph Cardinal Bernardin of Chicago today as the group's president castigated national news organizations for their reporting on the Cardinal and on the Catholic Church generally. Speaking to Roman Catholic bishops gathered here for a semiannual meeting, the president of the group, Archbishop William H. Keeler of Baltimore, cited the reporting of accusations against Cardinal Bernardin as an example of press sensationalism.

Americans are evenly split over the North American Free Trade Agreement and are uncertain about whether it would create jobs or cost them, a stance that closely mirrors the predicament facing Congress as it prepares to vote on the pact this week, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll. The telephone poll, conducted Nov. 11-14 among 1,334 adults nationwide, showed 41 percent opposed and 37 percent in favor of the pact, which would gradually erase trade barriers between the United States, Canada and Mexico. The difference fell within the poll's margin of sampling error, which was plus or minus three percentage points.

To broaden its presence in the pension market, Aegon U.S.A., the American arm of Aegon N.V. of the Netherlands, said yesterday that it had agreed to buy the group pension operations of the Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York for an undisclosed sum. Aegon will acquire $6.3 billion in assets and liabilities from Mutual of New York, known as MONY. Aegon said it would assume responsibility for the operations and staff of the acquired pension business in Purchase, N.Y. The acquired pension business will operate under the name Diversified Investment Advisers.

The Travelers Corporation said yesterday that it had sold 11 properties to two real estate companies controlled by the Chicago investor Sam Zell for $256 million. Zell-Merrill Lynch Real Estate Opportunity Partners L.P. 2 acquired 10 of the properties. They include office buildings mainly in the South and Southwest. Another Zell company, Equity Residential Property Trust, acquired an apartment complex in Texas. With these transactions, Travelers has now sold real estate and nonperforming mortgage loans with a book value of more than $1.4 billion so far this year.

The Chrysler Corporation said that instituting a new accounting rule for post-employment benefits would reduce its net earnings and shareholder's equity by between $250 million and $350 million in the fourth quarter of 1993. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday, Chrysler outlined the effect of the Financial Accounting Standards Board Standard No. 112. The rule requires the accrual of benefits provided to former or inactive employees after employment but prior to retirement.

Merck & Company said yesterday that as expected the Food and Drug Administration had given its blood-pressure drug Vasotec clearance for preventive use in people who could have heart problems. The drug can now be marketed as a treatment for high blood pressure and for patients who have already suffered from heart failure. Under the latest F.D.A. decision, Merck can sell the drug to prevent heart failure in at-risk patients and to reduce the hospitalization of people who suffer from a weakening of the heart's main pumping chamber. Vasotec is the leading branded heart drug, with sales of about $2 billion a year.

GTE Telephone Operations, a unit of the GTE Corporation, has signed a definitive agreement to sell its 90,000 telephone lines in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont to a group of local carriers and private investors. Terms were not disclosed. The GTE unit, based in Irving, Tex., said the sale completed its previously announced plan to trade or sell "a small percentage" of local exchanges, which are central offices into which lines are hooked.
